Angus Palmer promoted to Director of EMEA Landscape Architecture
return to journalWe’re delighted to announce the promotion of Angus Palmer to Director of EMEA Landscape Architecture. He will be responsible for overseeing the design and delivery of projects, business development and operations for the EMEA-based team.
Angus joined Uncommon Land as a Senior Associate Director in April 2022 and has since worked on projects including Qiddiya Motorsport Park, Tblisi Sea Masterplan and Project Paradise.
A landscape architect and urban designer with over two decades of experience, Angus has worked in Australia, USA, UK, India, Egypt, Georgia and the Middle East. He is a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute, an Australian Registered (AILA) Landscape Architect and member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).
During his time practicing, Angus has been able to transpire his passion for the profession of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design into creating spaces to enhance the quality of life for communities and individuals who visit or live in those places. Angus’ experience in project delivery lies predominantly in the public realm where he has shaped projects in a variety of scales; from project initialisation through to construction documentation. He takes a systems approach to large scale projects and see’s open space design being as much analytical, scientific and technical as it is a form of art and organisation.
Prior to joining Uncommon Land Angus worked for Coen + Partners, based in New York City where he worked as a Project Director on Riyadh Sports Boulevard in Saudi Arabia. In his time in Sydney, Angus led the Coogee Bay Road Urban Improvements and key stages of the Heffron Park Redevelopment.
Angus holds a Masters of Architecture & Urban Design from Columbia University in the City of New York, a Certificate in Business Management from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Canberra.
Commenting on the promotion, Tom Cartledge, CEO, said: “I am thrilled for Angus, his step up to Director is thoroughly deserved. During his 18 months with us, he has had such a positive influence and more than demonstrated his ability to lead complex projects and build a team. With a true passion for design and improving external spaces, I can’t wait to see his impact in 2024.”
